Save the date...

I guess we will start with today’s date... 10/10/10. Significant??? Well, there is opportunity to make it so! Each and every day holds the potential for a day of remembrance.

For me, besides the day of my birth, October 16, 1982 is a day I always remember. It is the day I was out enjoying a gorgeous fall day with friends in southern Illinois. The day was picture perfect until it wasn’t. Although, in the end, it really was. It was the day that I crushed my spine but not my spirit. It was the start of tremendous growth. It was and is a day to remember. Soon to be 28 years, in 2010, it will be a day of celebration.

Every one of us holds tight to certain dates, specific events. It seems strange to focus on the day someone dies, yet most of us save that date to remember the one we lost... to reflect upon the memories. Not a bad thing to drive through the memory bank.

I have heard people say, “I will never forget...”  To save a date is an interesting phenomena. What dates stand out for you? Whatever they are, remember, enjoy and know that love and growth are on the way.
