Connection
Last weekend, I was in New Orleans to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday. A warm greeting on Bourbon Street started the festivities but they didn’t end there.
Being the last to arrive, it wasn’t especially easy to connect with everyone. I’m at a point in my life that I realize that time passes quickly and I need to seize the moment. When I found an opportunity to connect with someone, I took it.
Connecting is not always easy, especially in a large crowd. Music, crazy human behavior, street performers, and beads showering a chosen few made it more difficult to connect. However, the connections that I made on that trip are etched in my mind and in my heart.
Life can be so full that we forget how important connection is on a daily basis. It not just connecting with others, but connecting with ourselves that matters. For some this comes in a religious form, for others it might be nature that brings connection. Whatever the avenue, I feel that connection is important to personal growth.
Connection = relationship, attachment, contact. It sounds good to me. Take time to connect with someone or something within. Be well... Nancy T.
